Sanjana Sharma – A Visionary Bridging Cinema, Culture & Branding

The Woman Behind Rajasthan Film Festival & KSeries Some people follow a path, while others create one. Sanjana Sharma is one of those rare visionaries who carved her own destiny—against all odds. A filmmaker, entrepreneur, and branding expert, she is the Founder & Managing Director of Rajasthan Film Festival (RFF) and KSeries, two platforms that have redefined regional cinema, music, and brand storytelling in India.

With a passion for art, culture, and filmmaking, she breathed life into Rajasthan’s entertainment industry, reviving its heritage and bringing it into the modern era. Today, she stands as a pillar of regional cinema and branding, ensuring that the stories of India—its people, its struggles, and its triumphs—are celebrated on a grand stage.

A Life of Struggles, Dreams & Unstoppable Determination

Born into a traditional Marwari Brahmin family, Sanjana’s journey was never meant to be ordinary. In a world where women were expected to follow societal norms, she chose to challenge them.

Her life changed forever when she lost her mother at just 13. In an instant, childhood turned into responsibility. Raising her younger siblings, she learned resilience, self-reliance, and the power of hard work.

At 15, she started a dairy business—not as a hobby, but as a necessity. Her dedication soon made her one of the best milk producers in her area. By 16, she was married, and at 17, a mother. Society may have expected her to stop dreaming, but she refused to let circumstances define her life.

In 2006, she moved to Jaipur as a single mother, carrying nothing but courage and a burning desire to succeed. She stepped into the entertainment industry as an actor and dancer in Rajasthani films and television. But fate had other plans—a serious car accident forced her to step away from acting and left her in a coma, putting her dreams on hold. Yet, resilience defined her journey. Ten months later, she fought her way back, refusing to let adversity define her. With renewed determination, she transitioned into production, laying the foundation for a new chapter in her life and the future of regional cinema.

Reviving Rajasthani Cinema & Giving Artists a Platform

For decades, Rajasthani cinema existed in fragments—scattered, underappreciated, and almost forgotten. Despite being an 85-year-old industry, it lacked a structured platform, a voice, and most importantly—recognition.

In 2013, she founded Rajasthan Film Festival (RFF)—a groundbreaking initiative that brought Rajasthani filmmakers, artists, and storytellers into the spotlight. What started as a festival to honor Rajasthan’s cinema soon evolved into a movement, expanding to embrace other regional film industries across India.

Cinema is not just entertainment—it’s history, culture, and identity. That belief drove her to make RFF a celebration of art, culture, and the stories of India. Today, RFF is the biggest platform for regional films in the country, bringing together thousands of artists, filmmakers, and cultural leaders each year.

But her vision goes beyond just one event.

To educate and inspire the next generation, she organizes 100+ school and college activities annually, helping students understand and appreciate India’s cinematic and artistic heritage. She also launched an Inter-School & College Competition before RFF, encouraging young minds to explore storytelling, filmmaking, and cultural expression.

Producing Music & Preserving Rajasthani Language Through Songs

Art is not just about cinema; it’s also about music—the soul of culture. Recognizing that Rajasthani folk and traditional songs were fading into the past, Sanjana took action.

Through KSeries, she has produced many Rajasthani songs, reviving the language and giving a new voice to Rajasthan’s musical heritage. Her music videos, folk renditions, and contemporary Rajasthani tracks have played a major role in keeping the language and its artistic traditions alive.

Her music productions have reached millions of listeners, blending traditional folk with modern sounds—a fusion that resonates with both the older generation and today’s youth.

Building a Branding & Advertising Empire

While cinema and music remained her artistic passions, Sanjana Sharma also recognized the power of branding. She saw how businesses struggled to tell their stories, how brands failed to create deep connections with people.

That’s when she decided to combine her storytelling skills with advertising expertise.

Through KSeries, she has crafted high-impact ad films, branding campaigns, and digital storytelling projects for major brands. From food and lifestyle to heritage and consumer goods, she has helped businesses establish powerful brand identities that truly connect with audiences. In addition to commercial projects, KSeries also produces short films, providing a platform for meaningful storytelling and fresh creative voices.

With a deep understanding of visual storytelling, emotional engagement, and creative branding, she has worked with some of India’s most recognized brands, ensuring that their narratives are authentic, compelling, and memorable.

Further extending her vision beyond advertising, she launched TakeStep—a platform that brings together entrepreneurs to share their journeys, challenges, and insights, inspiring the next generation of business leaders.
